Quantum Optics

The Quantum Optics conference is a biennial international meeting that has been held in Latin America since the year 2000. Created with the goal of strengthening collaboration within the regional quantum science community while fostering strong international participation, the conference has grown into a recognized forum for cutting-edge research in quantum optics and related fields.

Since its first edition in Santiago de Chile, the conference has been hosted in a variety of locations across Latin America, including Chile, Mexico, Brazil, Uruguay, Argentina, and Colombia. Each edition is organized by local academic institutions in close collaboration with the broader international community.

The conference covers a broad range of topics at the forefront of quantum science, including:

  • Quantum optics and photonics
  • Quantum information processing and quantum communication
  • Fundamental tests and foundations of quantum mechanics
  • Nonlinear optics and atom optics
  • Atom–photon interactions and light–matter coupling
  • Quantum interference, coherence, and entanglement
